I'm getting ready to remove my TPIS headers to send back to the company for repair and hopefully replacement, and I was wondering if any of you that might have already done this run into any problems with sending them back. They really need to be replaced and not just repaired just not sure if they will do that. Also if you did send them back did you have the 2 week turnaound as promised, how about shipping. Thanks, Jo Ann
I'll share my experiences with you.. but you won't be happy..
I had ZERO luck with vendor support. I purchased them from a forum vendor who is very popular here.. they completely abandoned me quoting "TPIS has very poor customer service"..
My headers developed numerous cracked welds and I had to remove them as a result. I was told to send them back and "we'll take a look at them"
TPIS will NOT replace them, their policy is to repair only.
I ended up havign to buy another set since the delay was going to be so lengthy..
I sent them back (at my expense).. they did repair them , and recoat them , but it took 6 weeks and numerous calls to check on them!
In the end, they did fix them, they looked brand new when I got them back, but I had to buy a whole new set of headers in the meantime and had to eat the shipping. I ended up selling them when they came back and got SOME of my money back but in the end, it cost me easily $400 to correct their quality problems.
Incidentally, the set I bought to replace them, which I've had for about 3 months now, are cracked.... I've removed them and off they go for repairs........
You are right, I don't like hearing what you had to say. I called TPIS and spoke with the owner, he was totally aware of the problem, I have numerous cracks and some very bad welds undeneath. He said turn around time 2 weeks, hummm I sure hope it is not 6 weeks.
That 's ridiculous. How do they expect you do have your car take up room at a shop for 2 weeks:mad: I would expect them to send you a new pair while charging your card until the old ones are returned that way no one is tied up. TPIS :nono:
On a lighter note you can take a look at my header install and results. JUst anohter option in case you decide to ditch the TPIS routine.
Call Robert at Florida Performance (exhaust) in Ft. Lauderdale. Dixie and Commercial. Ask Robret to inspect and see if he can repair locally. He's the best in S. FLA. Nice guy too.
I think it is ridiculous too, but TPIS is fixing and/or replacing them gratis. I have someone to do the work it is just the down time that tics me off. I will call them and see if your idea of sending them to me first will work. Either that or I might just consider dropping more money and changing the system, guess I'll have to wait a couple more months for my new wheels :mad
Sorry for your misfortune and the manufacturer should know better than to hung you out to dry with the lengthy delay... I would be :mad To have another set crack would also get my blood boiling! Who is the second set's manufacturer?

I'm looking at other options right now!
You bought a second set of TPIS that cracked, or another brand that also cracked? Inquiring minds want to know?
