So my drivers side window will go down all the way but it will not go up all the way. It stops half way up, any ideas what it could be? I tried pulling up the window while pressing the up button. I have window tint if that would make a difference.
Seems like it is a mechanical issue. I doubt a switch, module or motor issue since those normally prevent any motion in one or both directions. I suggest you start by removing the door panel and inspect.
If you need any guidance on panel removal let us know. There are some good Threads on the Forum. I have one but it is on my laptop.

Ok I'm going to remove the door panel today, thanks for your help
Hi C6at16,
Mine did that too. When I took the door panel off I found where one of the "metal threads" in the cable assembly was broken at one end; thus bunching up and stopping the window from going all the way up. I removed the window cable assy and carefully unwound the one broken thread and clipped it off at the unbroken end. Re-assembled the window and all worked for now. I do not know how long this fix will work, so I have ordered one from rock auto and I am waiting to install it when the orignal fails again.
Good luck, Joe
No loose wire ends but I did notice that the braided cord had a lot of play in it. So I am assigning that's what it is from. Anyway how to tighten up that cord?
Pay attention to the part where he "taps" on the window motor with a small hammer. Worked for me. Usually happens to my car with it sits for a long period of time. I have replaced the regulator but then it started happening again. I have only had to go back in after the new regulator was installed once and tap it. Have not had an issue for almost a year now.
I had both motor/cable assemblies fail in my car. There are two plastic guide tubes that usually fail allowing the cable casing to penetrate the motor assembly. This is why you seemingly have too much cable. Your best option is to try and get the window back up to its full upright position and order a new motor assembly. From the picture you can see the cable guide tube on the right is still good but the one on the left has snapped in two and the cable sheath has been able to penetrate the pulley assembly making a lot of slack in the cable.
