i am in the process of buying an 01 vette with a blown motor and i got a extra 6.0 lq4 out of a 01 chevy truck question is will the 6.0 crank bolt up to the flywheel and clutch assembly from the 5.7 ls-1??? i remember reading a bunch on the lq4 being differant in size from the 5.3's
The motor will go in yes, but you will want to be extra careful as some of the earlier 6.0s had a spacer on the crank itself. Make sure it doesnt have one. Easiest way is to take a measurement from the block to the end of the crank hub. Compare the two. Other than that, everything else is relatively the same. I know one of the accy bolt holes used for Fbodies isnt drilled out on the 6.0 truck blocks, but my memory is a bit faded on whether the C5 accy will fit without having extra bolts. Besides changing out the oil pan and pickup tube, there is little else involved. I wold use the Ls1 heads on the 6.0 if it were me also. Just some added info.
I know this thread is about a month old, but a little info to go along.
Since the LQ4 is from a 2001 you will be fine on the crank spacing. The 99-00 LQ4 had the spacer built into the crank, the later ones it is removable. If it has iron heads, it has the long crank, if they are 317 alloy heads you will be fine.
