'02 Z06, installed a cam Dec of 2012 along with new springs, retainers, valve seals, etc. Was losing oil at about 1qt/1000 miles, which turned out to be a bad valve seal on cylinder 6. Spark plug was black. This was fixed last summer.
Fast forward a few months, everything seemed fine, then I started noticing an oil loss yet again, at about the same rate (or maybe slightly slower), but I pulled my plugs yesterday and nothing looks out of the ordinary. No leaks on the ground, pan seal looks good, don't see anything dripping from bell housing or by the crank pulley. Engine has maybe 40,000 on it now, less than 10k since cam install. I'll pull valve covers when I get a chance to see if anthing obvious is out of place, but I'm at a loss. I would think any leak that large would make it to the ground, and if I'm burning that much, I should see evidence of that on the plug?
Any burning oil smell when engine is warm and sitting still? I was losing mine from the oil pressure sending unit. It was dripping onto the exhaust and burning off, never had any oil spots on the ground.
