Default Active Handling

My 2004 C5 convertible is having a recurring active handling problem; Active Handling randomly kicks on for no apparent reason under normal driving conditions. I've brought it to the dealer and they say it's not generating any codes, my tires are the right size and I just had the tire pressure sensors changed. Any suggestions?

You can pull the codes yourself. Look on here for how to do it. If you get the C1287 and/or C1288 that would be the SWPS going out. (Steering wheel positioning sensor). Mine on my 04 did that and it took awhile for it to set the codes. Replaced the sensor and all is fine now. They cost about $65.00 at www.gmpartshouse.com and take about 2.5 to 3 hours to replace.

Also, if one of the front brakes applies when it kicks in, it is another SWPS indication. The first time mine went out, it immediately sent a code, but the second time it took a week or so to throw the code. If your cruise control is on, it will turn that off as well.
