Car remains unstartable.
But at least I got to visit it. The dealer has no idea what is wrong and GM said to check the head ground which turned out to be OK. 50 error codes come up when starting is tried which means there is a bad ground or so I was told. I'll post the fix for this someday when it's found.

That sux!! I spend so much time with my car that if I were in your position, I would have brought my cleaning stuff with me to the dealer and would have been detailing the interior until they forced me to leave!! :jester

The problem was traced to aftermarket wiring meaning my wiring on the pigtail feeds. A wire was shorted which blew out the 20 Amp cigar fuse and took the Body Control Module with it. The shop manual states that the BCM is robust and is protected against shorted loads or wires across battery potential. Either the BCM was destroyed by the short on the cigar circuit or it needed to be reprogrammed after the short was removed. The dealer replaced the BCM , reprogrammed it and removed the aftermarket wiring before the car could be started. I will add my own fuse block fed from the battery to avoid this situation in the future.
