Default O2 Wire & Spark Plug Insulating

I finally finished my headers and cam install and shockingly my LS1 fired right up. It's running a bit rough as I need to get it tuned but I was elated when it started and looks like I did not screw anything up.

My O2 wires are laying on the exhaust a little and wanted to see if I should wrap the wires in something or wrap the exhaust to keep the wires from melting?

Also, should i add shields to my spark plug wires? I have MSD 8.5mm plug wires but since my headers are just SS and not coated, I was not sure if I should add some shielding.

Hoping to get it tuned this Friday.

Default

O2 sensor wires are heat resistant, hot heat proof. You should get them tied up away from the headers. I am running headers with stock wires with no problems and have done it many times. As long as the boots or wires are not contacting the header tubes, you should be ok.
