I thought that I would pass this along. When I got my 2003 corvette in Sept of 2012 the only flaw on the exterior was the silver on the emblems were worn on the edges and the black underneath was showing. The finish is not the same as other years. I guess this was from the previous owner washing or waxing the car. I was tempted to replace them with new but did not want to spend the amount they wanted for them. I bought some testors enamel paint pens for another project and found that the silver pen ( number 2546) matched the silver exactly. I put a sheet of printer paper under the edge of the emblem to prevent getting silver on the torch red paint.
I have used this too. Depending on how much you wash/wax your ride, you will have to reapply. I have done it 3 times in 7 years. Looks way better than the black edges.
