Default Newbie Here. A/C issues.

Since summer is approaching, I am not tryign to go another year without A/C. Any help or suggestions would be great. I have a limited budget as well.

So, for starters, when I turn on my A/C it does will not go out the designated vents based on what mode it is in. It will trickle out all of them. It will get cold right next to the vent, but there is no pressure whatsoever. This happens with the heat as well. There is plenty of pressure out of the defroster vent though.

Secondly, the little amount of air that does come out is not very cold. I have recharged my freon. I have also used the dye and UV glasses thing to look for leaks and found nothing.

If there is already a thread answering this, please point me to it. I am not a forum guru and am having difficulty finding the appropriate stuff. Thanks in advance fellas.

Go to the above sticky 8/25 to post #94 to check your vent problem. (cheap and easy fix).
After that, check you Dic for codes, and also where the cold air (if any) comes out, then repost. Again, don't be afraid to do a search first.

Vacuum leak at rear of intake or under the battery is a common problem. I had the same symptoms when I bought my car last year. After you fix that, take it to a shop that can evacuate and recharge it with the exact amount of freon, should be 1.5 lbs.

This link will help you fix the air flow control problem: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...with-pics.html
You need to fix this before you can move forward with the temp issues.

I actually had a problem like this with mine due to an aftermarket radio's installation. The vacuum line to the selector **** had been knocked loose, so the door to direct flow wasn't moving.
