Leaky Butt???
This is odd. My Z has diff fluid leaking from the bottom of the diff in the center. It starts about a .25 inch in front of the diff drain plug and runs towards the back covering all the letters (GETRAG) on the diff. The drain plug is tight. Just started. The left and right diff covers are dry. Any ideas?

Did either of you read the original post or am I misunderstanding you? Leaky butt comes from the sides of the diff and the OP claims they're dry. My leaky butt came from the sides of the diff. OP is your case cracked by chance? I'd take a good, hard look.

No cracks some casting flash. I put in on the hoist last night and cleaned the entire case looking for cracks. I haven't heard of the cases breaking in stock cars. Is cracking somewhat common??

Scrub it down completely so that all of the oil traces are gone and then check it every day or so until you see exactly where it is coming from. The traditional failure point is the left side cover.
