Re: Not subframe connectors but what instead? (bdavies)
At the time the C5 was released, it's hydroformed steel frame was the most rigid of any production car.
The only reason subframe connectors exist on an Fbody is because the Fbody is a unibody meaning it is not a once piece frame. The doors are actually part of the frame structure on an fbody.
A rollcage is probably the only way to stiften up the C5's frame, which I plan on adding to my own car this winter.
Re: Not subframe connectors but what instead? (Willy02)
What can be used on the C5 to keep the structure of the car from loosening?
Thanks!
Natalie,
All C5s have a much stiffer chassis than a Camaro. And it isn't a sub frame type of assembly.
I have a Hardtop which is the stiffest of all the C5s. But even with the hardtop I noticed an improvement after I added the cross bar for my 5 point harness. You can kill 2 birds with one stone. Get ready fo the track and add a little more rigidity! http://www.r-dracing.com/c5crossbar.htm
