Default Lowest Dust Pads

I read some older threads but I'm wondering if there are current offerings that are even better.

What is the absolute lowest dust pad available? Car is not a track car, just an occasional spirited driver. It's a 98 Pace Car so the dust + yellow wheels is beyond annoying. The original pads are finally starting to squeak at 95k miles. The fronts are still factory but I'm going to swap all of them. The part that blows my mind is with the amount of dust the factory pads produce even on a short drive it makes no sense there is any pad left to speak of.

From what i've experienced yes. There's really no such thing as a dust free brake pad IMO. The little to no dust i've experience is very very light colored and wipes away very easily.

I visited your web site, but didn't see any 1521 pads for a "street driven" C5. Are they available?

Thanks,
KoreaJon

I'm currently running GM ceramic pads. Next to no dust, and my wheels are close to white in color.

The material is what determines how well the brakes bite, and in turn, how much they will dust. For example, a good ceramic pad will theoretically offer less braking potential as say a semi-metallic, carbon, or Kevlar etc. type pad, but will dust much less because it has less a intense bite. The performance minded will usually be using a pad unconcerned about dusting, but most of us in our street machines shouldn't need anything crazy. Id go with ceramic pads. They should last longer as well as keep the mess down.

The Raybestos quiet stops are a ceramic pad. And they have been discontinued because they were simply a basic ceramic pad with a lot of marketing behind them. A normal set of Raybestos ceramics will function exactly the same.

I've had my a/c delco ceramic's on for 8 yrs, still look good and very little dust on my chrome wheels. What little dust that is shed is white not black.

Good luck
