If you want the quickest results you should contact Chris at Katech to have him put the program together for you before you drive your vette. This should have been done when you purchased your mods but possibly it didn’t come to mind… My buddy just recently had his 99C5 Coupe done with the same package and Katech gave the specifications to "Superchips" and it worked like a charm, not to mention it only took about a 1-2 weeks to get his programmer. The cam is Katech's own grind so they would know best what the parameters should be on the specifications :yesnod: BTW, the tech turned the key after the install on the head & cam package and the vette started instantly... Good luck with the rest and congratulations

As an alternative thought to SuperChips, consider Ed Wright ("Fast Chips"). You'll get much better work from him.

My saga is illustrative. My first H/C setup from Agostino Racing came with "custom" SuperChips programming. It was off from day one. A variety of codes relating to Air/Fuel management, suboptimal drivability, and less than maxiaml power/torque. I first tried the bandaid approach of adding a MAFT, which helped a bit, but not enough. I even spoke with SuperChips about altering their program, to no avail. Finally, I drove to Ed Wright's shop in Tulsa where he dyno tuned the car. I gained an immedite 30hp, and cured all the drivability problems. Subsequent to this, Nick sent me a whole new LS6 H/C package which is now installed. Ed is in the process of reprogramming my PCM to accomodate this much more radical setup.

The process of my reprogramming is an example of what he could do for you. We've run the car on a dyno with wide band O2's and have sent him the graphs and A/F measurements that have resulted. I'm also sending him some auto tap logs from driving about town. He'll then reprogram a computer, knowing that we're using the program he created for us as our baseline. I expect we'll go back and forth a time or two, but should end up with something close to, or identical to, what we could do if I drove back to his shop.

In your case, I'm sure he knows KaTech's stuff well. He would need cam specs, and will ask you to detail all your other mods. He can then create a program for you, which you could fine tune, if you wanted to spend the time, in a way similar to mine above. The result will be far better than what you'll get from Super Chips (my opinion, though many on the forums share it).

Hope this helps.

Should the car not be started up without the programming being done??
That will take a few weeks won't it. I have the autotap/EFI live software so can run the car with this and can get dynos done in NZ by an autoshop here. Thanks, I have contacted Ed Wright.
