Will be installing a wideband setup soon and I have a question in regards to the location of the wideband o2 sensor. Initially I was going to drill a hole and weld a bung to the collector on one of the headers, but I've been contemplating installing the sensor in my x pipe; however, the x pipe is located just in front of the transmission. Is this too far back, or should I just stick with installing it in the collector?
Note: I do NOT have cats

I put mine behind the x pipe and it does just fine.

Id put it closer to the header for a more accurate reading. Mine is on the collector of the passenger side header. I also have no cats and my wideband has always been spot on. Also make sure you install it between a 9 and 3 o'clock position to avoid moisture from collecting on the sensor.
OP, does your WB come with a recommendation? Close to the collector is best.
Some folks also prefer the drivers side because cyl 5 and 7 are said to run leaner.
My XS power headers had a bung in the center of the X, so I just used that one.

Hey Ron, I use an AEM uego WB. I havent had any issues with it. It uses a Bosch sensor you can get anywhere. I think the sensor is stock on a Lexus so I buy them at Autozone and get a new one under warranty every year just to have a fresh sensor on there. The WB reads just a bit richer then my tuners on the dyno. Ive also heard many good things about the Innovative WB.
I'm using an innovate lc-1, it does say to run it closer to the collector so I will do just that. I brought up the point of running it in the x pipe because I figured it'd give a better view of what's going on in both banks. I'll run it on the drivers side and maybe sometime in the future I'll get a dual set up
