Default tires ???

hi all , i have read all the old threads/posts on tires and i am still confused because there are so many variables ? here is my rear size 305/30 zr 19 current tire nitto invos
275/35 zr 18 front tire nitto invos
the tires are 4 years old and do not hook up , also the tires have weather cracks down the center of the tread . the car only gets out when its nice but i do have to worry about getting caught in rain so drag radials are out . i have heard good things about toyo r888's for the rear but what should i run on the front that is matching but not a r888 ? the car is 02 z with a n/a 406 that puts down 520 at the tires . the car is also lowered with coil overs too . all posts were current to about a year and a half ago so whats the new great tire to have . at times i run the car hard but i never dump the clutch or road race it . i want tires that somebody can say "they work for me" . i could careless what road and track says , btw it is mainly asphalt up here in mn .

I'd get michenlin PSS all the way around if you can get right sizes. Lots of ppl like em on c6 z06's. I have 345 wide invo's on my c6 z06 and they suck, spin 4th, lol.

Hi there,

I am using Michelin PS2 tires (295/35 18 rear) and I am really happy with them. The car does hook up pretty well unless I punch it really hard and at low speed. Cornering is good as well. I don't drag race or road race, just like to have fun driving around. And for me these tires do the job
The longevity is good, I have 8000 miles on them and still look like almost new (PS I killed a set of Khumos in 2500 miles )

I run the r888 all the way around on mine. The rears are at 2/32 and I have no issues in the rain. They hook up great. I know you want recommendations for front but why not use the r888 up front as well?

at 520whp i would grab the r888 since i'd guess you use this as a dry weather car

the pss is better in the wet and will live longer if you keep traction control on. it's also better in the cold

but. they aren't as sticky in the hot dry.

pss will slaughter an invo though, would still be a big step up. just not sure if it's enough of one if you drive hard on hot days

I believe Nitto's are the best. I have 523 RWHP and they rarely spin under most situations.

I can take my car to peak torque (386rwtq) in first and stab the throttle with no wheel spin at all with conti extreme contact dw tires unless it's below 35. Great tire for the price, certainly worth looking at.
