the only kind here in this town is the standard amsoil atf. is there much of a difference from that and the torque drive? will it hurt it if I use the normal?
Hi,
I just put regular Amsoil ATF in my 6 spd manual. No problems. I contacted Tremec about what tranny fluid to use and they recommended Mobil 1, only because they tested with it. They did not test with Amsoil. Not sure whether you are talking auto or man.. I have used Amsoil for years in everything I own. Never had a problem be it 2 cycle or 4 cycle or transmissiom.
yeah its a 6 speed. the reason I posted the topic is because ive read a lot on here about the torque drive but never the normal atf. were you able to tell a difference just by switching to the normal amsoil?

No, I didn't see or feel any difference at all. Have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I had a brand new 2006 Honda Interceptor bike. It shifted hard. I switched to Amsoil 10W-40 bike oil and what a difference. MUCH smoother. I am a skeptic, and if someone would have told me that story I would have gave them a Uh-Huh, sure, kind of answer.
I bought my Corvette used, last September with 29K on it. While it was parked for the winter I changed everything to Amsoil. What was in it before? Not a clue. I personally don't think you will have any issues with either one. Good Luck!
