I just went and got a price for GM driveshaft couplers, holy ****! I definitely need to replace mine, as my pilot bushing was almost completely gone after only 2 years.
I am going to have to go with cheap Dorman ones until I can can budget DSS ones- which are surprisingly cheaper than OEM. The Dorman crap should only be in the car for at most a year so it should get me by until then....FML....
The DSS couplers were incredibly low quality when I had my t-tube rebuilt. Not sure if it was just a batch issue. But they had to be shaved down because of their warped oblong shape. Took hours and cost me a lot more than it should have. Just FWI.
i used dorman from auto zone, think they were like 30 a piece, they are stock replacement now. if you want to upgrade to something else, I am sure someone will recommend a set to you.
Make sure you order the right size, mine are the 10mm as its a 2000, think the 2002 went to 12mm but dont remember the year it switched
I am going to upgrade them when I do the rest of the drive train. I am shooting to 4L65 swap it next year so I will knock it out then. I would put good ones in now but I am already about $4000 over budget lol.
