I installed a VaraRam on my 2000 coupe a couple of weeks ago and I am definitely a happy camper, even with the 2.73's. The only other mod is a SLP cat-back. This system is awesome! I have never been to the track but I do have a GTech. My best time before the VaraRam was 13.78 @ 109.2. I made 3 runs last night and here are the results:
1. 13.33 @ 114.7
2. 13.18 @ 115.1 **
3. 13.41 @ 114.2
I know the mph with the GTech is higher than it should be but at least it shows how much I gained with the intake.
Here are my 0-60 times. I made 3 runs the night before I installed the VaraRam and then made 3 runs the next night with the intake installed.
Before VaraRam:
1. 5.14
2. 5.28
3. 5.34
After VaraRam:
1. 4.82
2. 4.90
3. 4.77

Re: VaraRam installed...WOW! (PewterVette)
Even though its not at the track the Gtech before and after test seems to be a great tool to see what the vararam did for you. YOur new faster times are right in line of what Vararam claims and our awesome times for a stock A4 with 2.73s. Congrats to your new mod and overall satisfaction! I am looking forward to getting mine installed in the near future.
So you are comparing your new times to your stock times . OK, but we all know that aftermarket intakes work, what we really want and need is tests against the other players ie: Vortex, Halltech, K&N, Blackwing. :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: Sounds like you are a happy customer! Congrats!
I know that everyone wants to know how the VaraRam measures up to other aftermarket intakes, but I just wanted to post my results because I am very happy with this intake. I was hesitant at first about spending $500 on an intake but since I do not plan on major mods, I wanted to have the best and that is what I got. Thanks Exit28Motorsports!
Indy Pace is right ..... What we'd like to see & hear is chirping from someone who SWITCHED to the Vararam, that HAD previously the Halltech or the Vortex...... :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: ...But I am happy that you like your new mod...I have been researching the Vararam and am on the $500 fence... :seeya Maybe some nice forum vendor will do a GROUP PURCHASE and move a bunch of units...HINT...HINT...HINT... ;)
Where the before and after runs made in the same conditions( temperature, humidity, barometric pressure) If they werent in the exact same conditions then its not a fair comparison. If it was cooler out when you ran with the vararam installed that also would pick up some time and MPH. If it was hotter out then you did the vararam runs than you had an even bigger improvement. Enjoy the new found power
The before and after 0-60 runs were made in the same conditions, with the only exception of two degrees. The temperature was 78 degrees when I made the before runs and 76 degrees for the VaraRam ones.
There was a four degree difference in the three 1/4 mile runs last night and my previous best, but the conditions were the same. The temperature was 74 degrees last night and 78 degrees when I made my best stock run.
