Ticking sound = Loose spark plug

Ticking sound = Loose spark plug
I changed the spark plugs to NGK-TR55's yesterday, double checked everything, and started her. Everything sounded perfect! :)
After driving around tonight for a couple of hours, I got out of my car with the engine running, walked around to the passenger side of the car and could hear a pronounced ticking sound. It was not too loud, but distinct from normal C5 valvetrain noise.

So I keep driving and eventually get home wondering if I over-revved the engine or something worse???
I opened the hood just now, started the car after letting it cool down for an hour, and the sound was still there. I pressed on the wires to make sure they were still tight, and the very front wire on the passenger side was vibrating and I noticed the spark plug was very loose! :crazy: I know I tightened it, and I did use anti-seize on the threads.
Anyone ever have this happen? I did not tighten it yet....I will wait until the engine is cool tomorrow. Hopefully that will do the trick! :cheers:

Mine had the same type of noise when my first set of TPIS Headers went bad. The welds on the small exhaust tubes broke. It was a little hard to see at first. I didn't see anything in your profile about headers but I thought I would throw this out there.

It indeed was a loose spark plug causing the tapping noise. I hope it does not come loose again! :cheers:
