In regrads to reseting the the DIC to remove the CM message... I am pretty sure that if you were to get another message, like lose of power, or lower tire pressure, while the CM is still displayed, it will toggle back and forth between the messages. At least this should be true for other messages.

Mean Green -- works for me beautifully, not sure why you're having a problem.
As for the Laptrax, I have one. It is one of the best 'mods' out there. Works just like advertised. Start the car, 5 seconds later it is in Competitive mode. I have the deluxe model, but haven't connected the extra wire yet, so it leaves 'Competitive Mode' on the DIC, which I reset. With the magic blue wire, it hits reset for you.
Very easy to 'program' to, so if you want to change the default to something else, you can.
I even had one of the early ones that had a little problem and Mike sent me a replacement at no cost (Mike, I know I owe you the old one. Cars still at Norris, I'll get it to you soon).
