Steering rack question?

Can you loosely bolt the steering rack to the cradle and install assembly together? I am by myself and attempting to get it under the car tonight. Thanks

I can't think of any reason you couldn't. The factory puts it together by lowering the body over the assembled cradles.

Make sure it's centered along with the steering wheel. Otherwise you be replacing the clock spring.

I've got that locked down; I took the engine out through the bottom after the cradle was removed. Halfway through the process, I decided that the cradle was much easier to remove then try to take out through the top.
I pushed the new engine on a pallet pull sheet and used the cherry picker; raised it just high enough to get the engine jack under it. Had to take off the intake to get grounds and EGR on cylinder heads. Ended up buying a map extension and drilling the front map mount on the 102.
