Many possible causes, fuses, control module, grounds, multifunction stalk.

I don't have access to my shop manuals so I cannot give you specific testing for the control module.

Are there any other lights that do not function? Parking or tail lights? If so check fuse #6 in the passenger foot well fuse box.

Here are a couple of threads related to grounds. Look for grounds related to headlights and carefully examine and/or clean them.

Try working the multifunction stalk multiple times to turn on and off the headlights.

Perhaps someone with a FSM can offer up some testing on the control module.

Last I checked a new control module was an expensive item. Replacing it and still having the problem would **** off the Pope on Easter Sunday. Used modules are available. Look up Forum member Marc at vettenuts. They often have good used control modules.

Lastly Google "C5 Corvette headlights will not close" without the quotes. Should find some interesting reading...
thanks, the problem all started when my battery died, put a new one in and the lights just popped up a stayed there,i tried everything ,someone had the same problem and the control module when open was burned,so I just wondered,i guess i'll bring it to my mechanics, hopefully his scanner will pin point it
