Default Orifice Tube - which one ?

I have a 99 and I'm the 3rd owner. The a/c system has been worked on at least 2 other times. Napa has two different ones for a 99 corvette, the lengths are different and the end you grab to remove it. One is flat like a flat head screwdriver and the other is a cross ( + ) , the tip you grab with needle nose pliers to remove it.

Dont know which to use ?????

what do they list them for... Same specs or is one for "Severe Climate"? Orifice tubes are pretty simple and usually are interchangeable.. I would be the one for severe climate/adjustable... will make the system colder and also stay cooler while idling..

if you are replacing yours you will want to do a receiver dryer, do a full VAC of the system to eliminate moisture, then have filled with the correct Freon and oil to the proper levels.. went threw that with my Bonneville... she is ICE cold now (colder then stock ) and is delightful on HOT days

Looks like you will need to remove yours to know if its 1st or 2nd design.. both will probably work/interchange with one another.. but dont quote me on that..
White: 1st design
White/yellow: 2nd design

I did my '99 last year. I wasn't sure which one either.

I found the C5 parts manual (shown below) states the 1st design is in the rear section of the tube and the 2nd design is in the front section of the tube. On mine it was in the rear section (1st design).

I was not sure if they interchange, so I found a way to get the right one.

Good luck.

don't forget to measure the oil out of the components you replace. At least the dryer should be replaced if you opened the system.
