When I turn the AC on, it does not work. The light on the switch/button will stay on but the AC does not come on. I looked at the compressor and it was not spinning.
I checked the fuse under the hood (#24) and that is fine.
I then switched the horn micro relay with the AC micro relay and the compressor will now spin when the AC is on, but still no cool air. And the horn is still working so I’m not sure if it’s the relay.
I hooked up one of those do it yourself AC recharge bottles with the gauge on it and the pressure is in the green zone so that looks good.
Any ideas what else I can check? If the compressor did not kick on until I switched the relay with the horn, why does the horn still work?
No DIC codes
I want to rule everything out before I have to get a new compressor. Just did that in the minivan and it was a $700 bill.
Should I check the outside temp sensor? Where is that and how would I test it?
I have the analog console so I don’t have a temperature gauge in the car.

Well you could check some basic things -
Do the cooling fans come on when you turn on AC?
Does the clutch engage, can you hear a click at clutch when you turn on AC?
Is the clutch getting power? (voltage)
Locate pressure switch, is it getting power?
Does pressure switch open and close (use volt meter) when you turn AC on and off?
And you say system is charged?
These are a few things to check. Maybe it is a bad clutch but I doubt it.
Good luck!
Just to close out this thread. My AC is now working. In the process of checking grounds and the various components, I ran into an issue when locating the outside air temperature sensor. I looked at where is should be and couldn’t find it. Looked on the internet to make sure I was looking in the right area and still couldn’t find it. Had to remove some pieces and the reason I could not find it is because it was not their. I found the connector/plug, but no sensor.
Installed new sensor and added more refrigerant and it’s working pretty good now.
interesting....and no error messages or crazy temp readings??
Nope, nothing. That's what makes this a strange one. No DIC errors and the light on the AC button would stay on indicating no issues. Usually at least the AC button light would blink then turn off it their was an issue. Oh well, I'm just happy it was a quick and cheap fix.
That's odd that the compressor will not turn on and there are no codes or blinking indicator. Command the A/C on and check for power at the compressor relay to switch on. Over pressure can also cause the circuit to open not allowing compressor to turn on. If you have access to an A/C machine, evacuate and recharge to spec and then try again.
