Swap in an m6 3.42 diff. Changing a ring and pinion in a c5 diff is for experienced pros. Too many special tool required.
You might want to call Rick Kim at rkt56. He's a good guy and is as good as anyone building c5 diffs.
Look into a stage II diff from RPM. The price really isnt bad, the quality great, and if you have any aspirations of performance, that diff will hold up to around 600whp. You'll be worry free with all new parts built by pros.
I hear good things about RKT too.
I swapped in a used 3.42 diff off the bat and learned the hard way, should have just went new. It came out and an RPM stage II went in.
