This is the latest gadget that I picked up off a vendors site that's suppose to help make the balancer install go easy ,well pics speak louder than words, would I buy one again, absolutely not
Back in '02 when I did my h/c setup, I made my own out of threaded rod, washers and nuts. I've used it many times since and never had any problems installing a crank pulley. About to do another one here soon . . .
If that is the end that goes into the crank then you didn't thread it in far enough. If it's not then I'm not sure what it is a picture of.
Heat the balancer in your oven to around 150-200*F. You can then push it most of the way on by hand and if you're quick it takes little force with a bolt or installer to finish it. The LS1 is a tighter fit and may not go all the way on. I would usually bottom the old small block balancers with a clunk doing that.
