I had my Clutch replaced 3 weeks ago with the Mcleod unit. The thing grabs like a BEAR. Everything is going great, last night
I drive the car after sitting for a week and now there is a whining sound coming from the fly wheel area in neutral. Press the Clucth and the
noise goes away. In fact, the noise comes and goes...drove it all last night anyways; this morning the noise came back again only in Neutral.
Press the Clutch, placed in gear and noise goes away...but not all the time. What's the DEAL? The clutch still grabs good and there is
no smell or slipeage....Please help. :mad :mad
sounds like the pilot bearing on the slave. did you have the slave replaced during the clutch swap? if not, you should have!! they're cheap to do while doing the clutch as preventative maintenance. the labor to do a clutch completely overlaps that of the slave. I wouldnt worry too much, though. usually the noise is not indicative of anything bad. Just drive it until the bearing gives up the ghost completely, or until the noise is so unbearable or embarrassing that you cant stand it anymore.
