Default TCC question

Can I just unplug the Traction Control sensors in the rear and not have it function? Its annoying how it still causes the car to bog down and not do a burn out even when it says its off sometimes. It happened once in a while at the strip. Or will it make it stay on or something? I know I will have to hit reset for it, but I already hit reset for not having TPMS so I dont care. I Just want traction control to stay off "always". Its only a drag car now.

Thoughts?

(I Meant to put TC in the subject line) TCC is torque converter clutch

I have the same issue. TC off, the car still does not like your foot hard on the brakes when giving it gas.

I'm betting the line lock will fix that.

I still haven't installed mine yet......

Turning TC off should do it but something may be fubar. I assume you are not in Comp Mode so AH is still functional.

Pull the fuse(s) for the EBCM and that should disable everything. I would not think you care about ABS at the strip. I don't like it on the street.

I'd still like to retain ABS. Ill try un-clipping the traction control sensors and see what that does. But will that stop ABS too??

ABS can not work with the sensors unhooked.

Well Ill see if they are easy to reach under and unclip. Then Ill just do it at the strip. I drive about 35 miles each way to the track on southern cali freeways. The ABS has saved my *** from ramming into idiots swerving from a stopped lane into my 75mph flowing lane a few times. Id hate to loose it.

It sure seems easier to just pull the fuses since either way will disable ABS.

Which fuse in the fuse box? The one in front of the battery right? I don't know what all would be disabled in that circuit if I pull the fuse..

There are 2 fuses in the engine fuse box to pull. They should be Fuse 5 and 52. Verify for your car that they are the same fuses. Mine is a 2001.

They should not affect anything else unless you have RTD and then pulling Fuse 5 should have an affect on that. Don't think you need RTD at the drag strip.
