This is my condition. Car is a 2002 Coupe 6 Speed. Every since I had my blackwing and Corsa Cat back system installed it seems that the carbon deposits on my tips come back in a day or two. I only have these two mods that I feel could cause this condition. Can the balckwing and exhaust even cause this condition?
I didn't have the stock chrome tips on for that long so I don't know if this is normal. Car runs normal as I can tell but I figured I would post this question because I just don't know the answer myself.
Again, I wash car tips and in a day or two they are carbon deposited again. Is this normal?
Traffic, not sure if your Corsa system and Blackwing are causing you problems...but I do know that I definitely get plenty of "soot" back there. I have to clean them (my stock tips) on a regular basis.
By the way, did your Corsa system get rid of the "motorboat" sound when sitting at idle with the stock system? I just hit 4,200 miles on mine and it seems like my stock system is getting louder...especially when I'm sitting at idle. At times, it can be a bit annoying.
Mark S. Yes the motor boat sound is gone. From what I am told, it's the X pipe that I had installed with the exhaust that got rid of that funny anoying motor boat sound. I have the touring system. I would get the indy if I had to do again. Thise pre Cats don't help the sound levels any!
mine are the same way and I thought I was running rich afetr doing some ATap passes and having the data analyzed by a couple of forum members, it turns out I wasn't running rich, just normal I guess....
Traffic Hater, thanks for your comeback on the "motorboat" sound...because for the first 4,000 miles the exhaust system sounded fairly tame...but now that "motorboat" idle can sometimes be annoying. Others would probably love it.
