Every time that the 2001 C5 automatic sits for longer than 3 or 4 days, I come home to about a pint of transmission fluid on the floor of the garage. When I bring it into Chevrolet, all I get is that it is excess fluid coming out the overflow. :mad
I am having a hard time believing that this is a normal operation.
I still am having a hard time that any engineer would design a vehicle that requires one to jack up the car to check fluids, as is the case with the tranny.
Sounds like too much "flow" and not enough "go" from the dealer. Check Ken's Newsletters for one entitled SERVICE INFORMATION; it has info on a TSB for trans leaks. Good luck. :yesnod: :)

It's a Corvette; not your fathers
Oldsmobile :)
If it is due to an excessive amount of tranny fluid, it might evenyually level off and stop shooting out the excess.
The problem is not attributable to an excess amount of transmission fluid. Why? Because the car has been used for over 10 months since the last occurrence of the problem. It only occurs when the car sits for very long periods. In this case and the last time that it occurred ten months ago it was for 14-17 days.
It is in the garage now. I suspect that it is a seal that dries up when it is sitting.
