Default cam selection

I have a ls1 04 automatic corvette I have these parts to install them and need your help for cam selection.

a)243 heads
B)long tube headers with x pipes (catless)
C) Magnaflow Cat back
D)vararam ram air with power duct
E)polished and ported 78mm throttle body
f)Ls6 intake manifold
g)3.73 gears
After all these parts are installed including the cam they will be reprogram and tested on the dyno.
I prefer not to use a stall converter and stay with the oem one.
I have checked a few cams at tsp I liked very much the 224/224 581-581 cam but also liked the 228/228 581/601 I will use them at 112lsa. Any suggestions on which cam? I not planning on racing the vette but for some street racing and beating a few stangs would be great.

Without upgrading your torque converter you can pretty much forget about the 228/228 cam....
Keeping the car streetable, the 224/224 is pushing the limits on the stock converter.
You're already dropping your drive train for the 3.73 diff, just do the converter while you're there.

An 03 has the same manifold as an ls6.

Did you talk to eps? I think Ron has a mild one in his car and has gone 10.99 with it.

A loose converter is so much fun.

Maybe try an LS6 cam? Mellow, and might have a chance with a stock converter.

The stock converter is uber tight.

I do have a small cam, but the car would be a stone with a stock converter. I have a Yank SS3600. I love it, but it's not for everyone.

Ya Im with the others.. all this is kinda pointless on an auto without a converter upgrade.. Even with the stock cam, a converter will make the car much more fun. With a cam, the car will be a dog off the line until the rpms reach the cams power band.
