Ya , I was going to take the battery out to do some work on the car and the dealer told me I would have to bring the car in for them to call GM to get the radio unlocked. I'm just wondering is there an easier solution than to go to the dealers, On other cars I've owned you could just call the dealer with the VIN# and get the code
I don't even know why they lock them either, As you said who's gonna take the time to steal it with a cassette player
Had someone break into my wife's car long ago after I put a junky Radio Shack radio into it. Stole the Radio and a bag with her ballet stuff in it (tutu and point shoes). They will steal ANYTHING given the chance. I was watching a documentary on an airline crash when the locals stole the SMASHED black box. The local government offered a reward and got it back but the thieves had already pried opened the smashed carcass to see if there was anything they could get out of it, making the tape inside useless.
