Has anyone had a stock 02 lock up? I keep reading that GM hasn't fixed this problem, but I wonder if they finally have. Is this a issue for ALL C5s? Should I be buying a bypass?
Re: Stock 02 Need Column Lock Bypass? (Corvettedon)
Yes, some '02's have reported lock-up on this forum. I had waited to put my C5 Solutions bypass in for 8 months 'til I started hearing about 02 lock-ups this summer. It was enough to spur me into action.
It's up to you if you want to install one based on your comfort level with the stock setup.
C5 Solutions no longer sells the unit I bought. However, a bypass is available from Corvettes of Houston, a forum vendor. Look to the right at the list of vendors and click on their logo. Talk to Paul at COH to get a bypass.

I've had a 2001 6 speed since February of '01 with 35k miles....no column lock problems. I think they may have actually fixed this problem! Unlike the fuel gauge issue...

I had mine lock twice in the same day. First time ever. Pulled key waited 10 sec. everything ok. Am I in for the BIG1? What does GM do to fix this? I'm still under warranty. [IMG][/IMG]
