Check out this link though, from the looks of this, the inside of a base models muffler is almost exactly the same as a Z06's. So Im looking for some real pics to clarify.

Here's a photo of what I did (remove packing from front half and blocked off passage into back half). I think I eventually drilled additional holes in the one remaining tube (or maybe I completely removed it, can't remember):
