Default HVAC Error Code

I have a 98 C5. I can't find any information on an error code.

99 HVAC B0393H

Any ideas on what is error code?

Thanks,

Ron

It's not listed in alldata and their info is supposed to be identical to the factory service info. Maybe someone with the factory service manuals can look it up.
Meanwhile you may want to double check it.

Check it multiple times but it still comes up the same. First I thought I mixed up the "9" for a "6", no it is a "9"! Cleared the code several times just to make sure!

Anyone have any ideas if there is secret list of codes?

Thanks,

Ron

These are all codes associated with the hvac. Seems maybe your display is goofing up and a led isn't functioning correctly

Disconnect the negative battery cable for about 5-10 minutes and try again. When you pull the code again do it before you shut the engine off and see if it does the same and if it shows H, H and C, or just C.

DIC code lists don't show it but not home to double check my FSM.

Are you actually experiencing any HVAC issues you can detect?

I disconnected the ground battery cable and let the car sit for longer than 10 minutes and looks like the computer was reset/no power.

Only getting one error "B0441H". Looks like an actuator, what is an actuator?

Your code is for the Driver side actuator and the code says the detected "movement range" of operation is out of spec (either too high or low). There are 2 actuators with one for the driver and one for the passenger side.

They are motor driven and are used to blend incoming air. Incoming air goes thru the A/C evaporator and then the actuators adjust how much air goes around or thru the heater core.

Your problem is either a "real" problem that needs to be fixed or the system may just need to be "reset"

Try this first:

Re-Calibrating Actuators

Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. DO NOT disconnect the battery
3. Remove the fuse for the HVAC Control Module (fuse #27 in the passenger fuse box).

Important!
The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.

3. Wait 60 seconds.
4. Install the fuse.

Some people say they had to do this several times to get it to reset. If this does not work you will need to fix the issue. The driver side is the hardest one to access, naturally.
