Pulled into the garage last night and shut off the headlights. They lowered normally but then the left one began making a horrible grinding noise after it closed. Seems like the motor is continuing to run after it closes. Is there an adjustment for this? If it's an easy fix I would rather do it myself than take it to the dealer.
I had a similar problem where one of y headlights would not close complertely and it was the control module. Luckily mine was under warranty and i'm sure yours will be as well.
I've had exactly the same problem. You will need to have them replace the actuator/motor control capsule assembley on that side. You're lucky it's in warranty, the part alone lists for $237.00 at the dealer!
Hi all,
Al'92, the model years '99 and up have an actuator motor that cannot be opened up and fixed. The problem is a small nylon gear wheel that weakens and breaks after a while. It is the designed weak point in the worm gear drive on the motor. You MUST buy a whole brand new motor, just for this one little thing. Great, huh!
