I have a 2000 Vert that has a window rattle when the window is down - and when door is closed. Works fine - glass just makes a noise.
Anyone "been there-done that"? Not sure what I am looking for inside the door that stops rattleing. ? Are there anti-rattle pads? Any pictures/diagrams of door controls/pads etc. available?
so it doesn't make a rattle when the window is up? hmm well i would assume there is a pad to stop the window from rattling. it prob fell off/ wore down. take your door panel off and get to the window track and shake the door and see where it rattles. then fix from there.
behind the speaker, inside the door is the front window guide.
At the very bottom of the door the window guide centers on a vertical alignment pin.
This pin should have a rubber isolator on it, like a little piece of hose. The rubber isolator had moved up the pin far enough that it was no longer serving its purpose.
To put the isolator back, I removed the bolt at the TOP of the window track and moved the track off the alignment pin. With the track off the pin I was able to replace the isolator with a dab of glue to prevent it from moving again. I then placed the window track back over the pin (lubricating it with a little silicone) and replaced the bolt at the top.
It was a simple fix to an annoying rattle. Even worse on a convertible because my windows are always down. I hate interior rattles with a passion. Hope this helps.
Just my two cents. Also am experiencing the window rattle on my drivers side only when rolled down. Investigated several of the posts and found the rattle was the window banging against the top left pulling. This was due to a lot of wiggle between the rearward window mount and the track. The reason there was wiggle was that there was a broken piece from the plastic slide on the mount side which makes contact with the track as the window goes up and down. Only fix is to replace the regulator that has new mounts. Or the cheap fix of just run the window all the way down and then just bump it up enough to make contact with the door dampers.
