You'll get all the complainers about heat soak ya da yada. I've done metal intakes on my ls motors before. Heat soak not an issue. Only thing I remember is maybe a little interference with map sensor. There is a supporting vendor here selling one I was going to pick up myself
Seriously? .... so a stock 01+ intake and throttle body is going to produce more rear wheel go than this unit? They are claiming like 15-18 rwhp on base model cars. Btw my car is stock other than Corsa extreme w/xpipe.

Thanks for the info Robert and the link and contact name too. sounds pretty good to me and seems like a pretty easy job. Are you grabbing this one?
Cool, might give him a call on that for some more info. Unless anyone can confirm I'd be better off going a different route. Painting might be kinda cool. Good idea. Thanks homie!

This topic has been discussed for almost 10 years. Flow tests have been done on this intake, and a FAST, and a LS6 intake.(all '01-up LS1-6), and the FAST 78 (at the time) was the marginal winner, followed by the stock intake, and the metal one bringing up the rear. If you're going for bling though, the aluminum one can be polished, which looks nice.

If you go by the manufacturer's claims, your catback is probably worth 20 non-existent HP.
The thing is that I'm not building a race car just looking for a little more power and yes looks as well however not really into polishing it. My car is a street car that I use occasionally, I don't drag race it I use it to go to shows and what not and just for fun.
So lets just say I wanted to go with a nice clean new LS6 intake and thottlebody whats that going to set me back cost wise compared to $699 for BBK intake and throttlebody kit?

Here's one for 500 w/ throttle body

Just pick up an LS-6 manifold ($350 +/- $50) and get your TB polished (~$125) and you're good to go. Back it up (front it up?) with a decent intake (VR-B2) and smooth airbridge (PowerDuct) and you'll be fine until you throw on some headers, free-flow cats and a tune.
I bought a used one when I took off my FAST90 to fit my SC kit, and that works fine. I think I paid $450 at the time. I sold my original the help pay for other mods....shoulda kept that one, though.
If you pick up any power it will be in the high RPM range.I had a similar intake but different brand and I LOST power until about 4500RPM,then the gains were very minimal(about 6-8HP).I you want bling,I have a brand new polished intake, fuel rails and chrome fuel rail covers I am thinking about selling.
In the end Paul, get what you want. You are looking for both some gain and some bling.
Bingo! Thats correct. I talked with Geoff yesterday and sounded like a super nice guy. Need to find some time during his business hours and mine to make it out there to see it now.

yep yep! CAI, headers, and tune are on the list for sure as soon as time and money allow.
