New 6.3 stroker; AFR 215V2, Fast 102, prepped by Tony Mamo, NW 102TB
trying to start it on the 2004 corvette MAF that was tuned to a Fast 90 with a NW90mm TB. Installed new AC 41-104 plugs; fouled them out; installed NGK TR55's, car starts, will not idle below 1400RPM; just quits.
Rechecked valve lash, pulled FP fuse, disconnected injectors and checked cold compression 220-225psig all eight cylinders. Any help greatly appreciated
my first thought is have the car towed to a tuner. you have great compression and it fires,
did you check manifold vacuum for any fluttering or leaks?
I am going to install a 100mm MAF, but was told to see if it would run on the tuned 85mm from the old engine. I haven't checked for a vacuum leak, but when I pull the brake booster hose off, it definitely has vacuum. NGK TR55 gapped at .040 helped, but it will not idle below 14-1500 rpm. Camshaft is a 649/651 lift 227/231 LSL Comp on 1.8 shaft rockers.
Did you have a good tuner set you up with a base program? If not, you either need to
1. have a tune emailed to you and download with hp tuners
2. Send out your ECM and have it programmed and sent back for you to install
Either of these should get you in the ball park so you can safely run it at low speed/light load.
3. Flat bed your car for a Dyno tune.
You do not want to wash down the new rings with too much fuel! When I did my heads cam 346 with a fast 92 ans ls2 tb, I was advised to run my stock injectors and drive it easy to the tuning shop. It did not want to idle. It did run decent at 2-3000 rpm, so that's where I kept it. I do have an m6.
If it were mine, I would not run it at all until I talked to my tuner.
Good luck with it. It should be a beast!

Engine runs fine above 2000 rpm, was told to see if it would run on the old 346 AFR 205', fast 90 NW 90 tune but obviously not. Do I just remove the ECM and write mod specific points so tuner can get it close.

you have no idea if it's running fine unless you're watching knock counts and can see the AFR as it moves up
absolutely need to tow the car to a tuner if the engine wasn't dyno or street tuned by someone smart.
i've seen guys blow up motors running stock maps on modded motors thinking it will be okay for awhile
