What are you doing? Anything short of a LARGE Stroker with a turbo or supercharger and I think it would be overkill. We used some FMS 42# injectors on a 408 stroker engine that pulled around 480 RWHP and we were using 18% duty cycle on the injectors....
What pressure (PSI) are those 50# injectors rated at? I have heard that some manufacturers have rated their injectors at 50 - 60 PSI which makes the #/hr numbers higher than they really are (in some cases no higher than real 38 # / hr injectors). I believe the injectors are supposed to be rated at ~34 PSI...but not totally sure. It is worth looking in to. I don't doubt that the 36 #/hr injectors that you have are insufficient based on your set up. Just make sure you get what you are paying / looking for.
Chris...any news on the new AutoTap software...I am ready to buy!
Yep. That's what I'm doing. 10-12lbs of boost too. Mike and Nick Agostino talked about it and agreed this was the right answer. Seems like their collective wisdom is pretty good :D
Sounds good! GWP is using 50# also on my 422/SC combo. These are rated at 45psi, so should work fine if you are also seeing 60-63 psi fuel pressures like we are. Just as Sean mentioned, we did have problems with some initial injectors that did not perform as expected, and then were told they were in fact rated at I beleive 60 psi, not 45. I'm sure Mike will go with top-notch injectors.
Tom, hope your car is coming along well also. We are going to be 422/SC brothers before long. I'm hoping to have things wrapped up in the next few weeks. They are putting the final components of a cog system on now, as the 8-rib was still slipping a bit. We'll then dyno there in Denver, then fine tune in KC more at my altitude. Going to start at about 8# boost, and work up if needed. Kenny's hoping for around 700rw numbers at 8psi. We were talking about going to an F1 instead of the D1SC, but for now will see what the D1SC will do especially down at my altitude. I'm still thinking it should flow enough air.
