Just had to share a short story about my good luck today. As many of you know I've been searching for a set of mufflers to quiet down my completely strait pipe exhaust. (Pfadt catless LT headers with Borla strait pipes.)
Almost pulled the trigger on a set of Corsa Indy pace cars. But decided to pick up a stock set for now for 75 bucks on craigslist.
Well not being able to install them due to how high the rear needs to be, I swung by my local muffler shop to swap them in. When I got there they mentioned a stock set they had in the back. Well it turned out to be a very clean set of Z06 Ti mufflers and uncut!
They took $100 bucks for them and installed them! Lucked out on a great exhaust for cheap! Now I can resell the other stockers and feel good about the whole thing.
My magnaflow system that covers that part of the exhust, are a little loud, I'm not into noise just for it's own sake. However, the suggestion of some power gains with them on, helps my opinion of them. Now , if I could only nail down some absolute facts on this claim , I could die a happy man. I suspect an unfounded power claim, but hope for the best since it is a good company.
They came with the car, and are supposed to help breathing, with the resultant good things happening.

I am pretty sure there is a power gain. GM offers the Bi-Modal exhaust option on newer Corvettes which essentially creates less restriction in the exhaust system. The claim by GM is 6 hp and is probably close what the after market exhaust gets. After market are mandrel bends and less restrictive then the GM systems so we may get 8-10 hp gain.
Nice! Now cut them open and send us a photo of the internals ;-)
You know I should... I dont believe they really are much different from the photos Ive seen. The Ti's may have a little less packing to give some more sound. But they have exactly the same design in the internals. I think they flow the same, but the obvious benefit being the less weight of the Ti.
