As a fellow '97 owner, all I can say is DAYUM!!!!

That is that baddest '97 I've ever seen - and one of the baddest C5's ever seen.

Nice work!!!

I have the car spread out around a couple forums. I think it deserves a magazine cover one day. Here is a couple better engine and build pics. I made the headers out of 100% 321 stainless. All exhaust after that is 304. Motor is all forged everything balanced and blueprinted including completely deburred and radiused block. Mirror polished chambers and exhaust ports.

Except for the fuel rails and injectors, I made everything here. 4 port throttle body is one piece. Comes out to about 110mm. Stainless lines are semi direct meth injection.

Heads are LQ9. CNC'ed with a lot of hand work. Say what you will about polished exhaust ports but I worked really hard on them for 2 weeks. Intakes were mirror polished and then finished out with a 60 grit cross hatch.

Your car, sir, is a work of art.

I agree - it deserves a magazine cover!

Beautiful, I wouldn't run 87 octane with corn though, may spark knock. That is one bad ride, make a audio when you fire it up, would love to hear it run.

what you gonna do to keep the temp under control under the hood? Also, the side exhaust is wicked, but again, temp against the fiberglass is not gonna be a good look...

No way Im hiding all of that under some giant God awful hood scoop. Wont be much of a hood. After extensive modifications the entire front body work is becoming a custom mold for a one piece tilt front end. Engine area will be generously cutout. Did not do all the detail work for nothing.

As far as the side exhaust, its a 3 inch stainless pipe running right down the center of a 4 inch mild steel pipe welded to the chassis. Air flow all around. I dont see heat as an issue at all.

There is sort of a master plan I have been trying to stick to. My Mom & Pop little machine shop has been very affected by the economy these past 6 or so years. Cant afford anything any more. Has really slowed progress on the car but Im hoping about one more year.

Sounds wicked! Cannot wait to see the finished car and hear it.

Also, I hope I did not come across as rude or arrogant...I would hate to see someone with this much passion and hard word go down the drain.
