Default Weird HID light problem

My driver's side HID headlight is a different color than the passenger side. Here is what I have done:
  • Bought new bulbs
  • Swapped bulbs side-to-side
  • Swapped the high beam over to the low beam side
  • Removed the inline resistor
  • Swapped ballasts

No matter what I do, as soon as the bulbs warm up, the driver's side looks like a 4500k or 5000k and the passenger looks like the 6000k that they are supposed to be.

Any ideas? I can't think of anything else to swap or check. I suppose I could verify the voltage at the connector.

wow that is strange.
Ballast wattage has nothing to do with color temperature right?

Based on the information I have found, it shouldn't.

You may have a oem lens on the drivers side that is distorted in color from exposure or a a blown seal that has let dirt in. Also not sure how the connection on your wiring between the output of the ballast to the bulb is configured. If the ballast output cable is hardwired to the bulb connection then your switching ballast eliminates the possibility that the cable could be defective. But if your bulb cable plugs into the ballast, then check that short cable out.

Aside from the potential lens (stock) having an issue, how are you wired? Are you using the OEM harness or do you have a dedicated harness with separate relay right off the battery/fuse box post to the ballasts?

OEM harness.

All 6 bulbs are HID (fog lights) and this is the only one exhibiting this problem.

I considered this. It's really the only thing that makes sense. I will pull the lenses/reflectors and compare them side-by-side.
