transmission question
I need someone to share their wisdom and is familiar with taking apart transmissions.
My '03 z06 has a very slight transmission fluid leak that is at the seam between the transmission and the tail shaft case. The seam is sealed at the factory without a gasket, just a bead of sealant. I'd like to reseal this seam so that I don't have to worry about it, ever, again. My question is this: can the differential and tail shaft case be removed from the transmission while leaving the transmission attached to the driveline? Or, do I have to remove both the transmission and differential, then separate the tail shaft case from the transmission?
