1999 steering wheel pos. sensor
hope someone will know the answer to my ? does the steering wheel pos. sensor have to have the aligment tab that sticks out of 1 side of sensor the round peice that holds the spring is there but the alig. tab is broke off does that have to be on to make it work thanks for any help geo.

I have not done any SWPS work but have read a good bit on it. A new sensor should have an alignment pin that is removed once installed. If removing and reinstalling the same senor then it is suggested to mark the alignment before removal.
Here is a link that might help. In particular Post 11 and after. Seems like that post has a lot of duplication of paragraphs but you can figure that out.

If it is an early one that is no longer available someone will be happy to get it. Saw one for sale recently that was used without the pin. Don't remember where I saw it or what it went for.
