ok i am buying tires asap fronts 275/35/zr18 rears 305/30/zr19 ...
i have heard plenty about tires but what do you guys run and own ?
i was goona do toyo r888's but my god they say expect 11k miles before they are done ? wtf . i want a tire that has the same specs as a r888 but lasts longer what would that be ? i am at 540hp at the wheels and i drive the car on road trips so no slicks or drag radials . help please .
If you're at 540rwhp and you want a tire for traction then go with the R888's. I ran the same sizes with 585 rwhp and they hooked up just fine. It all depends on how you drive the car, yes an R compound tire will wear quicker but in the long run do you want to put something on there that's going to be completely worthless for traction?
The R888's are also ok to use in the wet road conditions since the design of them channels water away from the tire. I personally drove a 400 mile round trip in them with no issues.
If you're still against the low thread rating then i'd highly recommend the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's. They're a great overall tire, definitely one of the best you can get for comfort, traction and life. Don't expect them to hold 540rwhp very well.
