Hi everybody. I'm following a sale of a '99 C5 at a reasonable price her in Italy, great conditions in and out. No active DTC errors, only some "H" errors, most of them apparently due to dead battery.
My doubt on buying is that when I pulled the codes from dashboard, and this little monkey appeared: C1225 H
I can't clear the code at the moment and drive the car extensively (and brake handsomely) to see if it happens again. But I'll do for a couple of hours if I go to buy the car. I know it's an EBCM error, and cant be "home fixed" on 97-00 C5, while I could fix it myself on later models. (thanks to Bill Curley)
1.How many chances are there that the C1225 H can be just a dead/removed battery glitch?
2. Shoud the part be defective and I want to completely swap it, is this product what I'm looking for?

Your C1225 may not be indicative of a bad EBCM. Take the left front wheel off and inspect the wiring for damage and then pull apart the halves of the connector and inspect for corrosion and bent contacts.
Thank you very much 8VETTE7, I'll definitely check again with engine turned on. What wiring shall I check?
Also, watching in the hood on the bottom, I remember I saw a connector on the floor. Maybe it was violet, not sure. Seemed like disconnected from something, near the passenger wheel. any clue if it's normal or not?
If the wiring and connector are OK, it may be time to replace the front wheel hubs, which incorporate the wheel speed sensors. I have the same code on my 200,000 mile 99, and that's what my GM Tech recommended.
I bought them, but haven't installed them yet. This is what I bought:
