Can't find a good answer to this. Does anyone know if the steering column unlocker, the one that plugs into the cigarette outlet, will unlock the C6 steering column lock as well? This ebay ad:

seems to suggest it will but I have not read anywhere in any forum that it is compatible. This is my last resort and I was hoping that maybe someone in has tried their unlocker in a C6 or knows someone that has.
I have a 2005 manual Vette and have consumed literally every thread on the internet about this issue (probably at 10 hours of research by now). Posting on the C6 forum returned responses of what I already know. I know the tone of this post will come across as snappy or hostile but that is exactly the opposite of what I want: I just want you to realize I have done my homework on this topic and there is a reason I posted a C6 question in the C5 forum
I looked it up and it doesn't look like it will work out of the box. That isn't to say you're out of luck though.. The C5 merely has a switch to ground whether or not the column lock is engaged. The C6 provides two different resistance values for locked or unlocked. 487 Ohms for locked, 294 Ohms for unlocked. The connectors are also different for the lock motor, so the unlocker won't work out of the box. The power wires for the column lock motor are purple (pin C) and orange (pin D), from connector C2 (4 wire connector) on the steering column lock control module. The black and light green wires are for the feedback to the module of the lock's position.
