My passenger side fog light seems to be burnt out. How exactly do I change it? Do I go in from the back of the fascia in the engine compartment or from underneath? I know this is a stupid question, but I've only had my '98 for a few weeks now.
Method #1: The service manual method says to raise & support the front of the vehicle, remove the front fascia lower closeout panel, reposition the brake cooling duct to reach the fog lamp. Disconnect the connector, twist the bulb to release.
Method #2: (if you have enough dexterity- some have success this way) Raise the headlight on the side of the burnt out bulb manually, remove the 3 screws around the headlight bezel and remove the bezel, reach down, remove the connector, and twist the bulb to release & replace. Can be a tight fit.
I replaced the bulb easily from the top down, simply removing the headlight side cover. I actually found that the bulb connector had been replaced with 2 flimsy wire connectors. I had to add about 6 inches of wire to fix the connectors. I actually ran the wire underneath the front spoiler and repaired it on the ground. I ordered a new connector and will replace it when it arrives.
MARTIN - want a no cost upgrade? Buy the Sylvania 885 bulb. It is 50watts instead of 35 watts stock. And, here is the best part, costs the same at the parts counter.
