I have a 2000, six speed corvette. Can I remove the engine from the top. I have removed the engines from my c-3 and c-4,by myself before.
Can this be done?

...if you remove the steering rack. I recently pulled mine from the bottom and attempted to put back in from top. I gave up and ended up dropping the cradle (again) and going in from bottom.
Harbour Freight 12 ton jack stands get the car plenty high to drop everything from the bottom...
Really hard out through the top (bottom too )
You have to get it forward enough to clear the torque tube shaft. We "thought" about pulling mine through the top, but decided to just drop it out the bottom.
The manual has it coming out the bottom and generally is easier, the issue in a home garage is getting the car high enough to actually get the engine from under the car.
My engine is out right now, I'm in the process of building a new motor. I took mine out from the top, no issues. Also, did it by myself, no help, but I'm used to doing things with no help.
If you do a search there is a ton of info out there on engine removal/installation. It always helps to have 2-4 studs to use in the back of the block to help line things up going back in.
